Michael Chapman, Director, Information Technology

Michael has provided technology oversite for both hospital and healthcare consulting organizations for approximately 21 years. His technology based career, supported with a healthcare foundation, allows him to align financial healthcare business requirements with technology based resources and solutions.

In 1995, he began to build his technical foundation at a large nonprofit hospital serving as desktop support analyst, hardware technician and system analyst installing and configuring workstations, Novell and Windows servers utilizing Novell NDS and Microsoft NT domain for user authentication, as well as NT/NDS Ethernet networks with LAN and WAN topology for over 5,000 users. In 2000, Michael gained further experience in providing remote desktop support to field technicians for +8,000 users international technology enterprise. Shortly thereafter, Michael started supporting healthcare consulting firms such as Certus Corporation, Mirrus Systems and now Healthcare Reimbursement Services as the technology leader for firm network systems.

Michael’s extensive career in the healthcare industry fosters his security fundamentals for hardware, O/S and application software, and connectivity configurations. HRS network operations include intrusion detection vehicles such as anti-spyware and anti-virus applications and firewalls. ePHI transmissions are encrypted while motion and whole disk encryption is deployed for desktop operations while at rest. An ISO certified off-site location provides multiple daily backups.

Michael built and now maintains the on-site, alarmed, secure data center with environmental controls and suppression. Security essentials such as vulnerability testing, 24/7 network monitoring and alerting, server and workstation patching are embedded in daily technology operations.

Technically, Michael has extensive experience in upgrading, encrypting, configuring, and testing network hardware including servers, VM hosts, switches, firewalls and associated appliances. Administration experience includes internet and intranet software as well as SFTP protocols, email and website hosting and VoIP. He supports software firm-wide, for Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus, Microsoft Exchange, and Sophos encryption and anti-virus packages.
